Every year our rent goes up a hundred dollars just because it can. One car accident, medical emergency (even WITH insurance) or vet bill, and it's over. You feel like shit begging kind strangers online for help knowing they're just as piss poor as you are. So much guilt over stuff you can't control.

Notice how none of us are complaining about the cost of streaming services, vacations, or eating at restaurants. We are suffering the loss of things essential to LIFE. Housing, food, healthcare, clean water/air, and electricity. The most basic bitches in the hierarchy of basic bitch needs.

Last year our electricity bill for the month of August in this exact same apartment with about the same energy usage was $117, this year it's $340. A trip to the grocery store for a week's worth of food has gone from $100 to $200+, but less food is purchased. How. How are we supposed to live.
