My grandmas were nice people, but idk if I want to talk to them forever.

I would however like to be able to text or email my dad sometimes. I still get the urge to do that when I read a funny article that he'd like and it's been more than two years.

It's not DNS, it's packet loss.

Roughly the same difficulty at troubleshooting though.

As an adult, I just had the painful realization that the Lisa Needs Braces episode of the Simpsons was foreshadowing and I should have been saving for my kids' braces since 1993.

What's your second favorite version of A Christmas Carol?

Obviously the Muppet one is everyone's first, but I think Patrick Stewart's 1999 one that aired in TNT is so good. Sets, costumes, the ghosts and of course his amazing performance.

The post-factual world sucks.

Imagine you host a forum about woodworking and you delete someone's comment that encourages unsafe use of a power tool.

Your totally-not-involved family member could be denied an H1-B for that.
Holy shit.

Reuters reporting that new admin instructions on visas are if you worked at a platform in trust & safety or content moderation or on fact checking or online safety at an platform you *and your loved ones* are ineligible for H-1B visa.

My omega 3 / krill oil supplement is one of those liquid gel pills, and it's slightly vanilla. But once it starts to dissolve, it's faintly fishy.

So about 30m after I take my morning pills I get vanilla fishy burps.

That's how my Saturday morning is going in case you were wondering.

I can't believe I live in a country where openly carrying a firearm is ok in some places but openly carrying a beer is outlawed in almost all places.

We literally have a President building a gaudy gold ballroom for himself in the White House and we simultaneously are about to default on SNAP payments, so elderly, disabled and kids will likely go hungry.

This is similar to why the guillotine industry skyrocketed in France in 1789.

"Windmills are the greatest threat to America's future."

- Don Quixote Trump
Trump: "If we didn't win this election. If we had these people that were running that were ruining our country, destroying our country with their open borders and men playing in women's sports and transgender from everybody and windmills all over the place ... I'm not sure we'd even have a country."

I didn't know that Oakland ARTCC (Oakland Center) controls airspace over almost all of the northern pacific.

And it's all housed in this nondescript building near our old house.

I dislike the trend of how Solutions Engineers have become "sales people with technical skills" rather than the people with the technical skills to make sure the sales team is pitching something within scope, and to begin execution of it once the deal is inked.
