However few things people shouldn't underestimate:
1. Peace in Ukraine will probably not even slow European rearmament
2. US striking a deal with China could signal which'd be good news for world economy
3. European leadership is more stable than the chaos of the current US administration (2/2)

However few things people shouldn't underestimate:

Oh believe me. A few satelites would be enough, the amount of debris thrown into orbit this way would make everything on that orbit effectively dead. LEO would become unusable for a couple of years at least. However that would include Russian satellites as well. It's M.A.D. but dummer.

This'd result in Europe less dependent on the policies of other superpowers, decrease overall reliance on external markets and make its economy more secure going into the future. Though in the short-term the outlook is bleak, in the long run, Europe's future has never looked brighter. (4/4)

If the trends from the past few years continue we'll definitely see space industry taking up larger share of countries' GDP, hence if Europe can step up, it could see a very beneficial diversification of its economies, where growth is driven by high tech jobs instead of exports. (3/4)

This could paradoxically offset a lot of the borrowing done to make this increase in spending happen in the first place. The push for monetization of space activities seen in recent years will only grow in scope, meaning countries that have a thriving new space industry be poised to profit. (2/4)

In addition to that, if we look at the people who are repeat non-filers, we find that the the main Government agencies where these employees come from are mostly from the DoD. If you want your precious Mr. Musk to decrease this waste, let him are the DoD. The number would go down severely.

This data is mostly from Financial Years (FYs) 2015-2021. As can be seen in the original report, this number mainly rose to its heights during the previous Trump presidency 2016-2020.
