Nature sightings.
As the Golf Course is only open to its members and there are Health and Safety and insurance considerations associated with the course being in active play, the hide is therefore not accessible to the General Public.”
That was part of his reply.

From Edric Hopkinson 6th May “DWT does own the land which is leased to the Golf Course and where the hide is located. Since the completion of the Environment Agency sea defences and subsequent storm damage, access to the hide has only been possible via the land which is occupied by the Golf Course.

So I’ve given up with Devon Wildlife Trust and I am very disappointed with them.

…if they created a short path (30 metres?) from the top of dune ridge down to inner bay. I am surprised that they have allowed access to top of dune ridge from beach. Surprised as I thought they wouldn’t welcome the extra erosion. Anyway Devon Wildlife Trust didn’t bother to reply to my suggestion.

Thank you. I’ll inquire with DWT although I am not hopeful. I contacted Teignbridge but they presented a list of problems as to why the hide can’t be accessed and could not offer any solutions. I assume that understandably it’s a very low priority to them.

Hello Paul This morning I came across your post of 8 months ago concerning Devon Wildlife Trust becoming responsible for the hide at the Warren and thus I assume the access to it. Do you know please if they did take responsibility as I haven’t noticed any change on site? Thank you Jim Summers

Hi Bill
Don’t know the status of Treecreeper in the UK (wouldn’t be surprised if they were declining like most other stuff) but if I was a Treecreeper then I would fly off somewhere warmer at the moment. It’s bleak out there!
