I was picking apples yesterday afternoon in the rain. I stuck my hand in a nest in the apple tree and found these. They were cold and one had been broken into and emptied and was now housing little worms.

I wonder when and why mama bird left them.

I stupidly suggested a t shirt quilt as an incentive for my son to de clutter his collection. Then I remembered how much I hate sewing t shirt material.

Anyway, here's to top. Mostly. It needs some patchwork along the bottom
5x5 block quilt. The blocks are a variety of t-shirts mostly video games, history puns, or tanks.

Someone put their service dog's obituary in the newspaper, and I think that's the most wholesome thing I've seen in a long time.
Obituary in the local paper for Ashkii Meraz, 2011-2025, a service dog. Asking is a light brown and white dog of possibly Boxer descent. H e is seated on a brick red background looking up and smiling at the camera.

A row of 10 large white and brown mushrooms, possibly the Green spored Lepiota orn false parasol. The mushrooms on the right are older and have begun to curl the edges up, swollen, and are deeper brown. The fresher mushrooms on the left are bright and flat. The undersides look tightly pleated.

Is this a joke? Why is BigPharma making big pharmaceuticals?

I dont feel well I shouldn't have to swallow something this big. I chew my food into smaller pieces.
An amoxicillin tablet next to a quarter for scale. The pill is the same length as the diameter of the quarter, more than double the thickness, and at least 1/3 the width. It's big.

If anyone is wondering how the Great Salt Lake water supply is doing, here is a picture of the Bear River just around the corner from my house. H2O from this river ends up in the lake. H2O is also diverted to all the farm land in the county.

Don't worry, the alfalfa and corn fields are lush.
High spots on the river bottom are now dry as the water level continues to shrink. I have never seen the river this low before. A longer view of the river. The side of the river had an obvious water line were the dry grass from the shore reaches dry dirt that is generally underwater which then slopes down to the waters edge were green vegetation is taking advantage of access to water. The distance is several feet.

Dead things I found this month
