Looking at art and flowers can sustain your spirit.
In the words of AOC: "it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public [...] this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism.
We have to sustain each other. Making joy isn’t denial, it’s how we will survive" (Nov 2024)

Meliorism is the belief that the world can get better and that we can help make it so. Unlike optimism, which hopes for change, meliorism acts. Unlike idealism, which dreams of perfection, meliorism improves what’s real.

ICEblock, which allows users to alert others to the geographical location of ICE officers, is the top social networking app in the App Store right now after Karoline Leavitt condemned it from the podium yesterday.

It is an honor to see my first @eos.org news article published online today, regarding gamma-ray flashes from thunderstorms. I hope you all find it interesting!

When I say you don’t have to worry about microplastics in your brain I mean that there is much stronger evidence that you should be worrying about other things that you don’t ever think about, like the draining of peatlands for agriculture, and things that you think about all the time, like fascism.

original artworks and photographs remain exempt from tariffs on U.S. imports.
This exemption is grounded in U.S. law (IEEPA)—a statute that explicitly prohibits restrictions on cultural and informational materials. This includes original artworks, prints, photographs, and other expressive works.

I don't reply to DMs on Bluesky, but I don't delete DMs. And I've noticed that most of the accounts who sent me a DM in the last 4 months, become deleted accounts. Sometimes after a month, sometimes within 24 hours.
So I'll carry on not answering DMs 🙂

The world is starting to boycott US goods and services. Those who live in the US can't do that, but they can choose to use independent small businesses. It should be reasonably easy to decide which businesses align with your values. ✨

Earnest post, but: a thing I like here is it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public without being broadly scolded, and I believe that sustaining this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism.
