Jordan will host a summit on Syria on Saturday in Aqaba, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Leb, Egypt, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain will attend as well as Turkey, U.S., and EU's high representative and UN envoy for Syria.

U.S. top diplomat Antony Blinken will come to Jordan, Turkey from Weds. to Friday to discuss the situation in Syria, acc. to the U.S. State Dpt.

He will meet with senior Jordanian gov officials in Aqaba and "emphasize U.S. support for the stability of Syria’s neighbors, including Jordan"

- security issues for 1.3m Syrian refugees in Jordan have now largely disappeared
- about 500 Syrian ppl returned today (not all refugees)
- refugees could need days/weeks to be ready to go back
