I'd always thought this was obvious.
🎯 All those things PBS taught us about the beauty of diversity, the importance of inclusivity, love, compassion, friendship... It all just went over their heads. The regime champions cruelty, exclusion, racism, and authoritarianism.

Are they bought by Amazon, making it so Texans can't get most books local, or are they trying to kill reading as a hobby in that state? I mean, II know they're *near* the bottom for education but did they take that as a challenge?
Texas bill could punish bookstores for 'obscene' books
A new bill in the Texas Legislature, authored by Rep. Nate Schatzline, would allow businesses to be held liable if a minor reports damages from "obscene" books.

With science deniers and straight corruption making the decisions, I wonder how much new dustbowl climate we're going to add to the states. I mean, we have that example right there in middle america just under 100 years ago and yet half the world still refuses to believe in manmade climate change.
This actually makes me physically ill - we have nothing without our planet.

Knowing trump has only done what he's said he's going to do, what so many of us knew he do if he thought he could get away with it, and reading a number of 'this isn't what i voted for' posts, I wonder if some people, once they decide to like someone, only process the statements they agree with.

I assume the lack of orange skin is why it took me a minute to figure out who this was but I do appreciate that he's begun to look like this is taking some toll on him as well.

Greenland, please, for all our sakes, call them illegal aliens and ship them off to an El Salvador prison.

There are times these days, where continuing to breathe is exhausting, almost too much to manage. I want to thank those of you doing more. Those keeping people informed, those figuring out how to fight, and those just making people laugh at how ridiculous it all is. It's important and appreciated.

We were in that space hidden by the tree that goes out of frame quickly in the zoom. Apparently we needed to get there much much earlier :) but we did go

I am exhausted by the argument that buying nothing for a day will do nothing.

It is a low-stakes chance for people to decide for themselves whether they are willing to be mildly inconvenienced in solidarity with others. That is the point. It's Day 1 of a Couch to 5k. You're accountable to yourself.

The metoo movement canceled sexual predators so hard that Louie CK will be headlining at Red Rocks. But then we've also just invited two new sex trafficers to move to the US so I guess this is the world we live in now. Nonconsensual =/= criminal.

Can I rewatch Leverage for some light fluffy escapism or will watching the good guys win there while we're losing so horribly in real life just make me cry?

Started an older fantasy book with christian overtones and discovered that it takes more suspension of disbelief than i have in me right now to accept that religion as good.

Buying a new dryer today after ours died would always have been stressful but if the overall world was less of a mess I might have avoided the stress spiral panic attack.
