I usually like to end a session on a high with an easy task for the next time. But not this time. It's broken and it still needs fixing.

Might need to take a break because it's bringing me down.

It's about the community teaching me new things about Clomper *after 6 years* of dev.

The feedback has been golden and the video is the cherry on top. Especially as I was in a _very_ *very* silly mood when I recorded it 😋

As an English person, it's definitely means "instead of preferred option.

However, English has grown and changed far beyond this island, so what constitutes as correct is localised!

I recently watched some Clomper beta tester videos and I was almost in tears a few times. It is quite the emotional rollercoaster - especially if you don't have a demo yet! 😂

Think of it this way: if no-one ever used it, the product would die. So why are people using it? Because they don't have 10,000 hours to learn 3D modelling for their DnD game. They don't have $500 to pay an artist to do it.

I totally see where you're coming from. The reason I think this is inevitable is that people can't help but to maximise output while minimising effort. All progress is the embodiment of that. AI is the most acute form yet.

Do "they" have any intentionality? Are "they" making decisions? I'm not sure I know who they are. The market of people's attention is the most valuable and it doesn't value human born creativity as we hope it might. They just want to laugh at a meme image, they don't care about origin.

I'm not sure I agree. If it weren't them, it would be someone else. I think creatives publicly decry the use of AI and then use it in secret. Like book authors who complain about AI books but use genAI for their own covers. And consumers don't care as much as we like to think.

CEO newspeak at it's most toxic. The inevitable slide away from human creativity continues. 😥

Thank you so much! I'll reach out on your discord if I get stuck. I might have some lighting questions in the future! 🥰
