I also wanted built in ways to make this D&D subclass feel unique for the player. The level 3 feature Mad Science gives you a bonus effect based on what tools you are proficient with as a Mad Science Artificer, and I'm very happy with how it turned out.

My favorite part about designing our my first artificer subclass, was collaborating with my community to bring in as many references, no matter how subtle, to classic mad scientists.
