Another decent day at RSPB Bempton. Pallid Swift, Pallas’s Warbler & Yellow-browed Warbler. My rubbish record shots of the Pallid here, but thankfully other guys got clinching images! 👍🏻

At RSPB Bempton, the very popular Ring Ouzel cleared off last night. But possibly a second Yellow-browed Warbler arrived late afternoon. Time and decent autumn weather running out, but still a slim chance of a big rare! 🤔

At RSPB Bempton Cliffs, away from the crowding passerine migrants in scrub areas, the chalk cliff-face seabird colony thrives with masses of young Gannets ‘guga’s’, preparing to leave over next 6 weeks! Huge numbers have already successfully left 🙏🏼

At RSPB Bempton Cliffs, away from the crowding passerine migrants in scrub areas, the chalk cliff-face seabird colony thrives with masses of young Gannets ‘guga’s’, preparing to leave over next 6 weeks! Huge numbers have already successfully left 🙏🏼
At RSPB Bempton Cliffs the autumn migration has started! Sprinkling of 5 Pied Flys, 2 Spotted, 8+ Whinchats, plenty Sylvia & leaf warblers, Yellow Wagtails and Common Rosefinch were highlights. Both scarce here, were singles of Willow Emerald and Small Red-eyed Damsels!

At RSPB Bempton Cliffs the autumn migration has started! Sprinkling of 5 Pied Flys, 2 Spotted, 8+ Whinchats, plenty Sylvia & leaf warblers, Yellow Wagtails and Common Rosefinch were highlights. Both scarce here, were singles of Willow Emerald and Small Red-eyed Damsels!
At RSPB Bempton Cliffs today, 2 Pied Fly’s, just over 50 Willow Warblers and at least 9 Chiffchaffs in waves passing through scrub mid-morning onwards. The jewel that is … a stunning Wood Warbler! Elusive but showed well on & off to early evening at least.

At RSPB Bempton Cliffs today, 2 Pied Fly’s, just over 50 Willow Warblers and at least 9 Chiffchaffs in waves passing through scrub mid-morning onwards. The jewel that is … a stunning Wood Warbler! Elusive but showed well on & off to early evening at least.
First breeding Willow Warblers at RSPB Bempton Cliffs. Same pair producing 2 broods inc 6 & 4 fledged young! Two nests 50m apart and each brood immediately taken to same Elder 200m away to feed! Nice start to a hopeful top leaf-warbler autumn! Pic 1 first brood, Pic 2, second brood (3 of the 4).

Today’s juvenile Saker on Flamborough Outer Head today of captive origin. Seen well this evening.

After decades of hope, finally nailed Red-veined Darter at Bempton RSPB Reserve today! Of course a scorching male, and constitutes first reserve record! Also a reserve 3rd record of Black-tailed Skimmer, an immature male.
