On the other hand, I knew a guy who would "hunt" wild grouse near Challis by walking up to them with a stick and clubbing them on the head.

Pheasants are probably a money maker for Fish and Game, and they don't really get tax dollars, so this is one way they pay for more important work.

I used to work at a private fishing and hunting club that did this, only difference being club members bought the birds and had them released somewhere specific. These pheasants would sometimes escape their pens... and then try to get back in. That's how domesticated they were.

Yep, that seems to be the plan. The Health Savings Accounts are just a fig leaf so they can tell us they did something. Assuming they even do that.

In essence, yes. They would say they never wanted it at all. But the core concept was one that they supported. Now they don't want a public option OR individual mandate, and their only solution isn't much different than nothing at all.

Even at the state level. Because being a legislator is a part time job, typical working class folks are way underrepresented. We can't afford to take the job. I still don't know how I'll manage it, but I decided it was important enough that I just do it and figure the rest out later.

Yeah, talking about our choices when we keep driving healthcare professionals out of the state, trying to wriggle out of voter-mandated Medicaid expansion, and now hospitals and insurance companies are fighting over money and forcing folks to pay more. What lovely options.

Sen Crapo says he wants us to have more control over our healthcare choices. You know what our "choices" usually are? Whether or not to get healthcare. I don't want more choices about who to pay and how much. I want to not have to worry about it, to just be able to get healthcare when I need it.

And now their plan, apparently, is health savings accounts. Which are fine to the extent that they go, but they're not insurance and they're not health care. It's a slightly complicated way to save a little money on taxes, which does you little good if you don't make much to begin with.

Reading these complaints by the GOP, that they don't like helping the for-profit insurance companies... it's like giving up on feeding your child spinach and giving them pizza instead, and then they complain that there's no spinach on it. You begin to wonder if they want to eat at all.

Left-of-center folks wanted a single payer system, like nearly every other wealthy nation has. But the Dems settled for the individual mandate as a compromise to appeal to the GOP and at least get SOMETHING better than the status quo.

As soon as it wasn't their idea, the GOP hated it.

I'm more and more convinced that massive levels of wealth are harmful to the wealthy individual. It seems to induce something like sociopathy in these men.

Heater photobombing the promo.

That's what I'm saying. First these doctors tell us we can't just eat nothing but cookies because they're not really food, then they say oh no cookies are definitely food! So which is it? Are we supposed to read their minds?
😉

I mean, did they TELL you that cookies count as food? 😆

Awful. And infuriating. And, small point, but this guy who says it's actually Biden's fault? That's like the people who say Trump getting elected was the Democrat's fault for being mean to Mitt Romney.

I'm not very knowledgeable, but we'll see when I get back later in the week. It's shaking at idle, smooths at speed but a little low on power and engine light on. Wasn't going to risk the drive in to Boise.

I'm in my Uber right now, probably will make it. Just funny that I've had the car for 21 years and never any issue until today.

This is the correct method.

I went over to that site so you don't have to. It's not in his feed, so likely fake.
