Many times you can see the indicator line with no color. I’ve seen it on many tests (pregnancy tests too!) just seeing the indicator line w no color is an easy way to confuse yourself into a false positive. He’s not suggesting to ignore a faint line, rather to be aware of what you’re looking at.
