And you're doing a great job! And that's everything he needs. Even if you mess up and forget to feed him one morning, or you get home late due to traffic, or accidentally step on his tail, he'll forgive you bc he knows you love him and want the best for him.

You're his person! He wouldn't seek you out like that if he disliked you or was miserable. You're giving him a much better life than he would have in a shelter, and more stability and personalized love and care than he would have in a foster home. I'm sure he's happy with you.

Cats purr for a lot of different reasons, but the photos you posted earlier of him with his eyes super closed prove he trusts you SO MUCH. Cats do not close their eyes like that unless they feel very safe and happy, and if he closes them at you/"slow blinks" it's cat speak for "I love you"!
