I worked in the ESPN research dept. in 2008 when CSU hosted 12th-ranked Butler. It was harder to find stats on small schools back then so I reached out to CSU's SID to confirm what I had assumed: CSU hadn't beaten a ranked team since '86 ..

The Cavs came so close to leaving Cleveland in the early 80s. Gordon Gund saved them. But it wasn’t until Wilkens and Wayne Embry joined in 1986 that the franchise found the stability to last in Cleveland.

I’m not sure if the Cavs have ever done a jersey patch like that. The Indians wore season-long patches for Bob Feller, Al Rosen and I think for Herb Score. They also did for John Adams, but only one game.
