Travis Hafner Pronk Bar (2006-2007): After a breakout season, Cleveland 1B/DH Travis Hafner received his own candy bar, milk chocolate loaded with crispy rice. "Pronk" was Hafner's nickname, which was a hybrid of his two minor-league nicknames, "The Project" and "Donkey".

Kevin Mackey led No. 14 Cleveland State to a win over Indiana in 1986 and into the Sweet Sixteen.

They were the first team seeded 13th or higher to win a game in the tournament.

The only person who didn't have Stephen Vogt on their Mgr of the Year ballot had AJ Hinch instead.

Yikes! Apparently he slept through September.

Thanks for following this thread with me. Hope you also enjoying remembering some guys who are younger than Justin Verlander.

I'll wrap it up with Luis Valbuena and Andy Marte, who were also younger than Verlander but sadly died much too soon.

I would like to see the Cavs wear a jersey patch to honor Lenny Wilkens.

The Cavs came so close to leaving Cleveland in the early 80s. Gordon Gund saved them. But it wasn’t until Wilkens and Wayne Embry joined in 1986 that the franchise found the stability to last in Cleveland.

My favorite Cavs coach. I don’t know if a coach has ever fit the personality of his team more perfectly than Lenny in the Daugherty, Price, Nance years.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver issued the following statement today regarding the passing of Basketball Hall of Famer Lenny Wilkens:

“Lenny Wilkens represented the very best of the NBA – as a Hall of Fame player, Hall of Fame coach, and one of the game’s most respected ambassadors.

The first walk-off HR in Cleveland franchise history was hit by Charlie Hickman in 1902.

The fans carried him off the field.

I just felt taking a screen shot to preserve Chase DeLauter's @baseball-reference.com page while its in this bizarre state of only having postseason stats.

If you search his name, it doesn't immediately take you to his page. The system gets confused and thinks there are two Chase DeLauters

Fun bit of trivia I just learned.

The two most recent players (of just four total) to make their MLB debut in the leadoff spot with 3 hits and 3 runs scored are Dave Roberts and Kenny Lofton.

Roberts made his debut filling in for the injured Lofton.

On Oct 28, the #95Tribe season of dreams ended with a 1-0 loss in Atlanta.

Martinez was pitching a shutout in the 5th, but with 2 on and lefties McGriff, Justice and Klesko due up, Hargrove went to lefty Jim Poole.

Poole retired McGriff to end the 5th, but Justice led off the 6th with a HR.

it's pretty cool that Alomar held this record alone for so long. His 1997 really was a magical year
Most home runs as catcher in single postseason:

2025 Alejandro Kirk: 5
2025 Cal Raleigh: 5
1997 Sandy Alomar Jr.: 5

On Oct 26, the #95Tribe solved Greg Maddux and forced a Game 6 in Atlanta.

Belle homered for the second night in a row to give the Tribe a 2-0 lead.

After ATL tied it up, Thome drove in the go-ahead run in the 6th and his HR added insurance in the 8th.

On Oct 25, the #95Tribe lost 5-2, falling behind 3-1 in the series.

Despite drawing 5 walks from Steve Avery, they couldn't get the clutch hit.

Things look bleak with Maddux taking the mound in Game 5

On Oct 24, the #95Tribe picked up its first World Series victory in 47 years on an Eddie Murray walk-off single.

The Tribe roughed up John Smoltz early, but Nagy blew the lead late.

Alomar tied it in the 8th before Murray walked it off in the 11th

Bud Shaw drove Dennis Martinez to Game 2 of the World Series.

I can't believe something like that happened in my lifetime. Feels like a story from 1937.
