So far, $10M in #ClimateCommitmentAct funding supports the @pullman.wsu.edu Knott Dairy Center Digester, & $12.8M more through @wastatecommerce.bsky.social's Anaerobic Digester program will expand & upgrade systems statewide - capturing methane, cutting emissions, & generating renewable energy.

This tech is being used on Woodinville’s section of the 42-mile Eastrail Corridor - improving connectivity & easing congestion from Renton to Snohomish.

These numbers are lives interrupted and resilience tested. With hotter, drier summers exacerbated by climate change, investing in local capacity, long-term recovery, and resilient infrastructure is critical to protecting Washington communities.

Federal aid took six months to arrive, leaving residents to recover on their own. Local groups like ReImagine Medical Lake and Elk Strong stepped up - yet only a handful of homes have been rebuilt. Many households lacked insurance or clear land titles.

In WA, utility-scale BESS projects are emerging in Snohomish County, Mount Vernon & BrightNight’s Greenwater site. With 15–20 more in Puget Sound Energy’s queue. WA can follow CA & TX’s lead - scaling storage to cut costs & strengthen grid resilience.
