STV is my preferred system, and yes any reform such as ranked ballots is sure to be better than FPTP, but under the circumstances if it was me I would insist on STV instead of settling for ranked ballots.

and finally, they are increasing the per-vote subsidy, which provides themselves an unfair financial advantage. The PCs will give themselves almost 10 times as much taxpayer funds as the Green Party will receive. This is stacking the deck in their own favour and does not allow a fair election.

First, they are proposing to repeal fixed election dates, which are there to provide a limited check on the ability of governments to call elections at a time that is most politically favourable to themselves.

Something important for Albertans to note is that if the Alberta NDP implemented electoral reform when they were in power, Danielle Smith may never have become Premier, and she definitely wouldn't have the power to single-handedly deprive them of their constitutional rights.

I don't see in the article where free transit isn't supported, just a few quotes stating the obvious (transit needs to be more than just free: fast, reliable). The real story here is how there is overwhelming support for free public transit, but it doesn't work without sufficient public funding
