I was referring to the vast amount of refined sugar in almost all American foods. If you don't think that's bad, take a look at beach photos from thirty years ago and more recent beach photos and tell me that excess sugar isn't responsible for obesity and the growing percentage of diabetics.

I have Type 2 diabetes, and before it was diagnosed, I spent nearly 2 months in a near-diabetic coma because processed sugar had jacked my A1C to over 13. All drugs and some foods are beneficial in the proper quantities but are poison if over-indulged.

Most foods contain enough sugars to supply the body. What I was talking about was all the refined sugar that is added to a great number of foods.
