The problem is that it is performative nonsense, and isn’t going to stop Republicans from labeling Democrats as socialists. And given the timing of it, it appears to have been done to kneecap the very popular and charismatic democratic socialist mayor-elect of NYC.

She called me a “reply guy” in a thread in which she replied to the OP, accused the OP of sub-skeeting her, and derailed the conversation in order to make it all about her and her “original post.” Weird narcissistic self-centered behavior. Earned an unfollow.

Sorry I don’t have the time to review all of your posts. But, yes, I agree that it is wrong to dismiss the entire south as MAGA (is anyone actually doing that?), but getting defensive and doing the “not all southerners/white people” thing ain’t great either.

I responded to your response to the original post. I have no idea what you’re referring to as your “original post.” All I see is that you’re doing the “not all white people” dance and being very defensive and thin-skinned regarding very valid observations about racism in the south. Not a good look.

This is another iteration of the “not all white people” response to accusations of racism. Of course not all southerners are racist; of course racism exists up north. But your defensiveness misses the point and ignores how racism has become systematically baked into southern culture and institutions
