NEW: In a SCATHING decision, Judge Briones of the Western District of Texas absolutely SAVAGED the government over this case, tearing to shreds ICE’s hearsay “evidence” that this husband and wife were in Tren de Aragua as “completely and wholly unsubstantiated” — and ordered their immediate release!
3. Conclusion It is this Court's finding that Respondents' Response and testimony was replete with conclusions, declarations, and accusations, by anything meaningful in the record. Respondents have been unable to convince the Court by even a preponderance of the evidence, let alone clear, unequivocal, and convincing evidence required, that Petitioners Sanchez Garcia and Sanchez Puentes are members of Tren de Aragua, and therefore has not shown this Court that they are properly designated "alien enemies" under the AEA pursuant the TdA Proclamation.

From our reporting on ICE using Social Security data to go after immigrants: One person involved is Marko Elez, the engineer who previously resigned from DOGE after he was linked to a pseudonymous, racist X account that advocated for eugenic immigration policies.

NYT excerpt that reads: Social Security regulations state that the agency may disclose information for law enforcement purposes in certain circumstances, including when a person has been indicted or convicted of “violent crimes,” and to investigate entitlement fraud. During the first Trump administration, the Department of Homeland Security, which oversees ICE, also pushed for broad access to Social Security data, but was rebuffed based on privacy concerns, according to two people familiar with the negotiations. Among the DOGE associates privy to the data-sharing agreement were Akash Bobba, a recent college graduate who gained access to the Social Security systems in early February, according to court records; Scott Coulter, who was named as Social Security’s chief information officer last month; and Marko Elez, an engineer who resigned from his government positions this year after being linked to an X account with racist posts that pushed for immigration policies based on eugenics. After Mr. Trump and Vice President JD Vance called for him to be brought back into DOGE, Mr. Elez was quietly rehired.

600,000 Venezuelans with TPS just got a little less safe—Trump is revoking Mayorkas’ last-second extension of TPS, restoring previous expiration dates in April and September.

Now Noem has to make a decision on extension or termination for about half that population by Feb 1 instead of spring 2026.

I have been asked if Trump's persecution of migrants, with whatever excuses, affects me based on my immigration status. The answer: there is no way for me, being a forced migrant, regardless of your immigration status, that this does not affect you psychologically, physically, and who knows at work.
