Yes!!
I'm starting a newsletter. Free & short: just 5 things each week that are strange, beautiful, or otherwise captivating me.

One of my attempts to break free of the social media age and try to re-capture what I used to love about the Internet.

First one launches Monday 1/13.

This! Exactly this. No real change, just quietly resuming.
Rayne Fisher-Quan: "There is something phenomenally painful in watching a material backlash erupt in response to a movement that was never allowed to be anything more than aesthetic."

The roots of today's horrors are well documented.
Deep thanks to heroes keeping origins visible.
😡
Of course, can't allow their curious wide eyed progressive children to discover/learn or to know the TRUTH of atrocities committed upon those of African and Native Ancestry!

This. Absolutely this.
"This violence isn’t on the evening news. It’s buried beneath their marketing, their endless paperwork, their fine print. But make no mistake: this is violence."

High time we addressed corporate violence-for-profit, and how & why it benefits the capitalist state's "monopoly on physical violence"
Today in #Austin, a group of "Luigis" rallied against corporate healthcare + in solidarity with Briana Boston with a banner reading "Deny, Defend, Depose: Greed Kills, passing out flyers + posing for photos with passersby. From flyer (see Alt Text): "When will we stop waiting and take what is ours?"

No moral to this story, except that I feel strongly about the surface of the earth, and by strongly I mean joy, awe, epiphany, and love.

Found what fell out of your post before it got Posted (btwn 'the' and 'animosity')

"well deserved"
Pretty sick, really. But a very real reflection of the animosity so many Americans feel towards private health insurers and HMOs.

Yup! And they were proud of it.
For The Investors!!!!
The specific guy who got got literally ordered the creation of an AI to figure out which patients were so terminally ill that if denied coverage they would die before being able to appeal the denial, and then set that AI up to automatically deny all coverage requests from people flagged that way.
