At least in the mine run of criminal cases, I don’t see many prepping judge-specific arguments (barring a key case in which a panel member might be the author for the court)

I’ve usually seen panels in substantive orders to motions I have filed (small sample size), but the motions portion of the operating procedures on motions doesn’t require ID of the judge(s) www.ca7.uscourts.gov/pages/Landin...
