The “perfect sock yarn” is the one you’ll actually knit with. Whether it’s 100% wool or 25% nylon, the point is that you like it and use it.

I highly recommend having two knitting WIPs on the go: one challenging, one easy. That way, you can choose what matches your brain that day.
