It also feels like maybe this is intentional considering how quickly Musk offered his services as the CEO of SpaceX to help "fix" the problem. It's almost as if they created a problem that they want us to believe they're the only ones who can fix it.

That's because it's not really about efficiency so much as it is about taking as much from us as possible to give to their billionaire friends.

I guess the difference between the stats you found and the ones I found are civil aircraft versus commercial? Not being in the aviation industry, I didn't consider those different things, really. Have all of the accidents this year been commercial so far? I know at least one hasn't been.

Statistically, there are about 1200 plane crashes every year (~3.2/day). I think we're hyper reporting it right now bc of what Trump did to the FAA.
