I like the Carry On films but the lore is too confusing, impossible for modern audiences to accept these people could play a major part in the French Revolution AND lose their bras on camping holidays

‘Famous’ by Thurman is still my favourite ever Britpop song which I first heard on Mark Radcliffe’s Graveyard Shift on Radio One in early 1995 …peaked at number 97 in the charts.

It seemed a strange choice for a comeback single at the time but I really loved it. I’m surprised they didn’t go with the more commercial sounding and Common People-esque ‘Glory Days’

Apparently they are still performing this on Top of the Pops

Manic Street Preachers & Radiohead. All of my friends were into the Manic Street Preachers and Radiohead but as a teenager in the 90s they just left me cold. Then later in my twenties it was Elbow.
What is your biggest musical blindspot for someone precisely your age?

For me - an elder millennial - it is that I have never knowingly listened to INCUBUS, nor could I name even one of their songs if you put a gun to my head.

It’s getting to that point in my life where I’m starting to think if there’s actually been anything good on the television since Alexei Sayle’s Stuff 🤔
Alexei Sayle's Stuff (9th November 1989). The latest teenage craze is a rather unexpected one.

And Pete Murray has a complaint from 1960.

Goldeneye & Star Wars on ITV1 this afternoon. I think I would’ve preferred it if they had kept this for Christmas Day afternoon instead.

Cyber Baroque chamber orchestra RONDO VENIZIANO's incredible animated video, 'La Serenissima', would often pop up unannounced on afternoon telly in the early 80s. Here they are performing live on Kafka-esque gameshow 3-2-1, and it's an amazing sight to see (and hear)!
