Unfortunately, although the First Felon is slipping downward in the polls, I don't think that Hegseth's pursuit of Senator Kelly will lose him many supporters in the MAGA base. Plus, if that happens as proposed, it will dominate headlines for weeks to come.

Someone in the NYT suggested that what the Dems need in the House is a consigliere and that Hakeem Jeffries isn't it. Sadly, I agree. Both he & Leader Schumer are good Dems, maybe even good guys, but their combined volume isn't much above that of elevator music. So who? Jamie Raskin? Ro Khanna? AOC?

Kind of wishing that Madison had a word as cool as Seattle's "Big Dark" for the winter months. "Big White"? Unless our snowfall is not the Big Dump it used to be. And "Big Dump" seems a bit unseemly. The Big Chill? That might work, and it was a great movie, too.
