Also it's only like this on narrow streets, which philly has plenty, but on multi lane two way streets it just makes more sense to put them over the intersection.

The reason I didn't like it was since it isn't implemented everywhere it's a little jarring to adjust to, and my arizona coworkers almost just didn't see some stoplights at more complicated intersections than this, but when you're used to them they're good.

That's real. I do have an art fryer that I keep in my suitcase for this reason but also that is the most annoying good decision i have ever made.
