I heard the first #BrentGeese and #Wigeon today. Too far away to see but my ears are also my eyes .

Such a beautiful day yesterday. This is Ashlett Creek in #Hampshire near #Fawley. Despite the oil refinery near by, the mudflats and estuary are full of amazing #Wildfowl. I feel such joy to see and hear the #Curlews in particular.

Here's a magnificent #Oak #Tree in one of the #NewForest inclosures (that's the correct spelling ) near me. This area is full of #birds thriving in amongst these venerable trees.

Finally got a pic of a #CloudedYellow. #Butterfly. Have seen several here on the South coast recently but they are always flying very fast and hardly ever settling. Thrilled.

Met an experienced #Birder today who told me this tiny #bird is in fact a #GreyPhalarope. He was in the same area earlier the same morning and had spotted it in the exact same pool. #Birding

Ok #Birders. This is a tiny gull- like bird that we saw swimming in the tidal pool at #Lepe. Today. Sorry it's such a bad pic but do you reckon it could be a #LittleGull? It was swimming and not wading for all the time we were there, at least half an hour. Very elegant. @rspbengland.bsky.social
