In 2024, women in the United States earned 83.6% of what their male counterparts earned. We are committed to closing the loopholes to ensure equal pay for equal work for women.

Today, we remember the signing of the Constitution of the United States 238 years ago. We recognize its might as well as its fragility, and we embrace our responsibility to uphold its foundations as we work toward a more perfect Union.

People who have come here more recently than my family and your family enrich our communities are vital and valuable.

Will the history books (or blogs or whatever) tell the truth? Or will this horrific episode be a paragraph like The Trail of Tears or a footnote like the Japanese internment camps?

Yesssssss
Great news for public school families—the Senate parliamentarian tossed Betsy DeVos’s private school voucher scheme out of the “big beautiful bill.”

It’s going to be far harder for her to use a billionaire tax shelter to ram vouchers into Michigan and other states that said no.

You can’t say “Free speech in America is back!” and then throw a member of Congress out of the chamber for speaking freely…

When the supermajority in the #ksleg chooses to underfund Special Education, ALL students, ALL educators, and ALL staff are impacted. Contact your KS legislators and let them know that our public dollars belong with our public schools! Find your legislators: pluralpolicy.com/find-your-le...

Yes, I’m angry about the game.

But I’m furious that an unelected billionaire is running our country 🤬🤬🤬

Don’t be fooled – education saving accounts, opportunity scholarships, tax credit scholarships, tuition tax credits and individual tax credits & deductions ARE VOUCHERS! They divert public funding to schools that aren’t held to the same legal requirements as public schools.

This year to honor MLK, Jr., and because I needed to do some good today, I donated blood in memory of Dr. John Ernst, principal at Rolling Ridge Elementary who passed away after a three-year battle with cancer in 2022.

1/2 Driving from KS to CO yesterday, my kids and I stopped at gas station (several actually because…kids). A woman with Colorado plates parked next to us in Colby had a blue “, La” t-shirt on. As we were buckling up to leave, I happily shouted to her through the window, “ Love your shirt!”

Remember: fascism thrives on apathy.

The autocrats want you to tune out. They want to overwhelm you. They want you to give up.

Don’t give them want they want.

Stay in this fight. Remain vigilant. And let’s keep building.
