Chevra kadisha rosha, cat lover. Good Hungarian paprika is delicious in almost any savory dish. She/her.
I love these because I can decide to have an apple or two without feeling like I’m making a big commitment.

Not my fault, yet I still accept your decree.

Luna was caught in a death ray and has collapsed while trying to move from the carpet to the tile.

Eric Swalwell clearly put some thought into his headwear this evening.

Husband and I saw a nice kitty at the Oakland Zoo this week when we took my sister there as part of her visit.

Happy #caturday from Luna, who is on the job and ready to warn the rest of the family in case anything should suddenly attack from inside the cat tunnel.

Doing some transcription as a Citizen Archivist for the National Archives (typing in hand-written text so researchers can search it more easily), and I have to hand it to the folks in the 1840's for the fancy seals the Aldermen used to make their signatures more official.

When I see this sign at the shelter it always makes me think it sounds British, but then I remember it’s referring literally to the bin filled with kitty litter.

This cat at the shelter is scared and uncertain. We use wand toys to help remind cats like this that they’re a predator and not just prey, to help them get their confidence back.

This is how you do it. Notice from the City that doesn’t editorialize, just states the facts and asks people to drive safely. It also doubles as a handy guide of when and where to join in if you want.

I’m getting ready to teach a taharah class this morning for others who are interested in learning about Jewish practices around preparing the dead for burial.

This is Buddy misbehaving by putting his paw, with claws out, on my chest. He just held it there for a long time, so possibly he was trying to stop me from misbehaving.

This is so thoughtful. I especially wish I'd had this option the year my father died. There are many reasons why Mother's Day and Father's Day can be difficult for people. Kudos to The Popcorn Factory.

Don’t mind me, I’m just going to cook some food for which half the preparation instructions include tips on how not to impale yourself.

Look, I don’t love parallel parking either, but these two folks didn’t even try to get it right.

Things are so chaotic these days, even my celery is all discombobulated.

Just once I would like to see something advertised as a “Minor motion picture.”

Here’s Luna looking surprised because we got a call from our vet this morning asking how she’s doing after her trip last night to the emergency vet hospital. She’s fine; the hospital must have gotten her mixed up with another Luna. Our Luna didn’t go anywhere last night.

It’s really something when it’s common for owners of a particular car brand to add a bumper sticker essentially apologizing for their choice of car.

When I logged in for my shift at the animal shelter today this popped up on the screen. It’s amazing how good little things like this are at making people feel appreciated. I have no idea what that gold thing is, though.

My favorite booth from the conference I attended yesterday and today. I love the slogan and tagline, and the clever graphic of female mosquitoes chasing a few male mosquitoes. What they’re selling is explained below.
