Wonderful evening with Fascinating Aïda at the Memorial Theatre in Frome. Wonderful women. I love, love LOVE Dillie Keane and her potty mouth.

Hello Bertie! I've been away from my cats, visiting rellies, so here is cousin doggo Maisie enjoying the sunshine today:

OK even I have to admit that this is a better name than the Gulf of Mexico.

I can't even come up with a witty comment to accompany this one.

OK, what was supposed to be a treat has turned out to be stressful. #iykyk #adhd

I don't mean to sound like a luvvie but I went to see Martin Freeman and Jack Lowden's two man play The Fifth Step tonight at Soho Place, and I thought it was brilliant. They were both good but Freeman in particular, he is an astounding actor. It's on for a few more weeks.

I'm not really the garden person of the household, but our wisteria has blossomed rather splendidly this year.

I took my girliepops Lulu on her last trip to the vet this evening. I'm sad but glad she's out of pain.

I miss her late night yowls as she carried her tiger toy around. I called it her baby.

It's always my duty to see pets out of this world. I wish it weren't. I'm the "strong one", they say.

Cole is a tremendous illustrator and artist and a thoroughly decent human being. Amongst other projects, he has collaborated with Michael Rosen on a graphic novel edition of his work You're Thinking About Tomatoes. Please do share his post with anyone who might be in need of his skills.

Been a bit quiet as I'm still recuperating, but I could not let this #Caturday pass without sharing the joy of my prince Bruno's toe floof. Freshly sprouted for spring.

I love that you noticed that. I told a small kid at Lacock Abbey to be careful not to trample the snowdrops and crocus buds and got a mouthful from their parent. I don't mean to sound utterly middle-aged, but if you're visiting an NT property, you should at least care a bit about not trashing it.

Captain Chaos strikes again.

A tale of two cats from my Instagram story. Why is one always naughty and why is it always the younger one?

My norovirus week in steps. Going to try and get out of the house today.

My living room looks out on to a quiet-ish residential street. I get a lot of people stopping and peering in as they pass. I don't mind as they're always smiling, greeting one of the floofs who sit there people-watching. I call these people "window fans" and I hope Benny enhanced their day.

Anyone who thinks pets aren't beneficial, in fact ESSENTIAL, to good mental health should take a day with this furry purry pair. They're brothers, two years apart. They love each other and their humans and they definitely make my life better. #catsofbluesky

Snow at 6am. As pretty as #Frome station gets.

I popped out for a little cocktail with friends but am now safely ensconced with a Bailey's in front of the TV which is where every self-respecting fifty something should be !

Happy new year Blueskyers. Lots of plans for 2025. Ask me this time next year if I did it all.

Sadly I can no longer knit, because one of my hands doesn't work properly, but I do more needlepoint instead. Here is a Candace (aka same name girl) Bahouth Klimt-inspired design I worked on during the 2020 lockdown. I changed the bottom right corner for my kid who came out that summer.

I used to knit. I also used to live in Norway, which is where I started knitting properly! Norway and Christmas are inextricably linked for me. Behold then my norske julekuler from patterns by the lovely Arne and Carlos arnecarlos.com
