There have been many challenges and difficult moments, many more days of doubt and many sleepless nights. 2025, while starting off fabulous got a major sucker punch on Jan 21 and we’re still holding our collective breaths.

As they pour money and influence into anti vax state legislators to make it easier to oppose vaccines.
They were victims of the charlatans. They are not the aggressors preventing public health action.

As someone who worked in immunization policy in Texas pre-Covid, fighting anti Vax propaganda and working with vaccine hesitant parents, I am conscientious of the need to not vilify victims of misinformation.
OTOH, I’m so damn tired of fighting these “victims” in the state legislature-

Shout out to the public health workers no doubt working their asses off and getting very little love, probably a lot of grief, and dealing with their own emotional challenges of trying to stop a completely preventable infection.
