Happy Publication day @gvaughnjoy.bsky.social 👏🏻
A friend sent me a picture of my book.

It's tangible and exists, and I am so fucking proud of myself.

Today is officially publication day, and it's hard to wrap my mind around it. I know many of you have written many books, but I never thought I could. 1/3

I enjoyed a local production of the play Sally & Tom which explores the relationship between third president Thomas Jefferson & the enslaved Sally Hemings. It was an engrossing and thoughtful play & one I highly recommend watching should it come to your area.

What’s your favorite historic play?

Making history accessible to the masses is a passion project of mine, but some days are better than others. Today was one of those days - insightful conversations with passionate scholars who are creating important work. It doesn’t get much better than that.

This is a concerning trend for our diminishing media landscape.
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.
