Tomorrow’s schedule. Just enough time between lunch and the talk at Pannell to hit up the bookshop for new SBC goods! I need a new bumper sticker at the very least. Would love some new shirts or a hoodie. Maybe lounge pants or shorts.

And, there are a ton of fireflies around. We drove out to the edge of the buildings to the wildflower field, and it was full of glowing gold fireflies! So pretty!

Not showing up for me, either. I came over here to see if it had dropped or there was a delay.

On the plus side, we’re likely going to have a full week of classes this week!

It breaks my heart that the town near where I went to college is STILL so anti-LGBT+. It was like that 22 years ago when I graduated from my pink and green bubble. How can people still think harming kids is helpful? Rhetorical, I know how. It just saddens me.

Music is such a defining part of life, and that music was my lifeline in college. And it’s nearly 25 years gone and I miss it.

Is there a streaming service available in the US that has 80s and 90s Japanese anime image songs for the shows I mentioned? If there is, please direct me to it. If there’s a way to buy the music digitally, I’ll happily do that, too.

Spotify does have all the Gundam Wing albums, so I have those for nostalgia listening. And they’re so fun and kind of cheesy, but they take me right back to college and watching GW at midnight on Toonami with friends in the dorms.

That is how I used Napster. I got Japanese anime songs and J-pop and J-rock that wasn’t available in the USA, except at anime cons, if you were lucky. But even then the CD was usually an overpriced SonMay pirated copy. I miss Weiss Kreuz and all the fun boy band songs sung by flowershop assassins.

Or to all the duel songs from Utena. Or the Tenchi Universe opening. Or “Pink Typhoon”, which was one of Naga’s image songs.

Like, the image songs from Slayers and Yu Yu Hakusho and Sailor Moon. The Japanese songs. It’s hard to find Masami Okui’s version of Rinbu Revolution, or the original version of Yuzurenai Negai. I want to listen to “We Are”, sung by Hikaru Midorikawa, Zelgadiss’ song from Slayers.

Good to know. The special was so much fun to watch, I want the next one asap. Hopefully there will be an announcement in the next few days.
