Dinner at Wailes was excellent, and we had an inspiring opening speaker in Tessa Fontaine. Sweet Briar summer arts and writing retreat is off to a good start! Saw some old friends, met some new cool people. Tomorrow, flash fiction class after breakfast!

Two male guinea pigs, bonded brothers, have chittered at each other all day. The elder has also been chasing his brother around. They are currently separated, one in the cage, one in the pen. Seem okay for now. Do I keep them apart overnight?

Heat came back on midway through second period today. The air is warm, but I’m still cold, especially in my hands. Gotta love Raynaud’s.

Lunchtime and still no heat in my building. It’s not so bad when there are students in the room, but when I’m alone, it’s frigid.

Second time the heat in our classrooms has gone out this winter. I’m hoping that maintenance will have it back up and running soon. I’m on planning now, but I’ll have students in 15, and my hall mates have already claimed the library.

Been a long month. And break is too short. At least I have the majority of my grades in, and I know what I want to revamp before the start of the new term. For now, though, I’m going to Squee over the new Doctor Who, play with my dolls, and work on my bujo setups. And put my Megazord together.😁

Listening to the You’re Wrong About podcast from earlier this year, and the topic is Napster. And it’s making me nostalgic. Spotify and Pandora and such don’t have older anime music, for the most part, and I miss my comfort songs from college.

Almost to the end of Thanksgiving break. Back to teaching high schoolers tomorrow. Brainstorming ways to get my level 1 freshmen more engaged and stay on topic since my usual methods haven’t been working.

Car is all good now, got both vaccinations I’d planned to get, groceries are done, and I got to talk with my brother. Long day, but good day, in the end. I am not leaving the house tomorrow unless I absolutely have to.

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes was so good! Solid adaptation, loved all the songs and incidental music, and the actors were superb. Also, bonus Burn Gorman sighting! I love coming across Torchwood actors in other projects! And Viola Davis, superb. Highly recommended.
