Nothing else gives me the joy I feel when one of my cats accepts a new bed I’ve made for them.

Star Trek has always been political. Roddenberry designed ST to use allegory to tell stories that might not otherwise be allowed on network TV. From the beginning, he strove to show a bolder, better, more inclusive future, which I believe is at the core of its enduring appeal.

I don’t know about you, but I’m putting tariffs on empathy and compassion to those that voted for this.

While I obviously respect Taylor for choosing to leave After Midnight on her own terms it’s so incredibly infuriating to me that CBS just decided to cancel it, even though they were already willing to pick it up for another season apparently, instead of looking for a new host

Something like 65% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, buddy.
Trump’s commerce secretary Howard Lutnick says if Social Security skipped a check, his mother-in-law wouldn’t complain—and if you would, it indicates you are probably a fraudster. Insane.

The only people I've seen who are for DEI removal are mediocre white men who have to shove everyone down to rise to the top.

A guide in Yosemite introduced us to two ravens she calls Rueben and Flaco.
PARK RANGER: to be a guide you need to be able to name all the animals

ME: no problem

ME: that’s Greg, & that's Sydney…

This has nothing to do with Chappell Roan’s new song The Giver. We’re training the cats to take something from our hand and the give it back.

The thing I like about insta/fb stories is it’s a close to real time view of that person — what they’re doing or thinking about. And if you aren’t there to see it that day, then you don’t see it. Is there a non-meta option?

Every Thursday night is #StarTrek night at our house. My husband likes to print out promo materials and put them on the fridge to build excitement.

My high school social studies teacher showed us Kopple’s American Dream in class. My dad then introduced me to Harlan County, USA. Both are so excellent and important.

Nuance just isn’t a word understood by the Right. Does our education system need an overhaul? Yes, but starting from scratch isn’t the way. Do we hate the TSA? Yes, but it’s not the union workers we hate.
Typical MAGA comeback: “but I thought you said…” 🙄

There’s a lot I like about my new job, but one of the best parts has to be the weekly peanut butter and cocoa hazelnut spread tastings. (I work at a food/ingredients company — we’re testing products.)
