Very happy to have been honored at the 2025 LSE Impact Prize event!

I’ve won a Spark Award for Innovation, to study selection bias in recruitment for deliberative mini-publics.

Seen here with my SPP colleagues Richard and Finn, who also won — it was a good day for the LSE School of Public Policy!

Inevitable.
Moncada’s thumb is injured. He got pulled after he biffed on two grounders. Both were ruled a hit. First one was definitely an error.

A friend in the neighborhood just sent me a picture from in front of Schumer’s building.
(I’d join them if I didn’t have a soup to attend to right now!!)

Americans aren’t partying as much as they used to. This year, we should all resolve to change that, @elcush.bsky.social writes:
Americans Need to Party More
We’re not doing it as much as we used to. You can be the change we need.

This is an amazing book! Everyone should read / put on syllabi.
Thrilled to announce the release of Uprooted: How Post-WWII Population Transfers Remade Europe with Cambridge UP 🎉🎉
The book argues that accommodating the displaced population can strengthen states and benefit local economies in the long run.

Eighty-five percent of Phil's predictions call for an extended cold moment. He is clearly a big wintertime proponent, but that’s probably because he’s a hibernating rodent.
Punxsutawney Phil says early spring. Here’s why that could be a thing.
Since 1887, Punxsutawney Phil was accurate about 40 percent of the time — that’s worse than flipping a dime.
