I never can open this can of worms without writing a novel. Trust when I say, I'm highly aware of the criticisms of the criticisms and yes there are points to made, even by Mister Gotcha.

But trust, they do not actually care about the things they hide behind.

ending stream of consciousness here.

It's giving Mister Gotcha.

It's not a need at all. It does harm, and it does harm for what ultimate good when there ARE less/non harmful alternatives?

It's a tool for capitalists to make capital without compensation for labor. And, it's a tool for hacks to take credit for the labor of others.

Or it's false equivalencies. "The internet uses way more energy." "Paper making and recycling produces a ton of carbon." Duh.

Last I checked though, documentation and communication have become necessities for survival in our society and we do not have a currently functional alternative.

The other is just false narratives. Able bodied people LOVE to bring up disabled people as if disabled people haven't been here making art the entire time humans have been making art, and, haven't been some of the most vocal critics of GenAI as their livelihoods are impacted so significantly.

Oooooof, I'd be so furious.
Hopefully the author has the sense to be unhappy about it, and hopefully whoever made this terrible decision thinks twice about ever doing so again :/
