Movie reviews, news and interviews since 2004. We particularly love the unusual and absurd – kung fu, giallo, Czech New Wave, etc.

For directors, at least a couple more RMs I need to log, watching a lot while I’m reading his bio.

Most watched actors in 2025, the Dolph of course (at least one or two more with him from 2025 I have to
log)

Crowd source question: what is this bird that has spent the past few days just hanging around my window? (With sound)

Man, this shit is like Bailey’s if Bailey’s were actually good, two thumbs up, been putting a generous amount in my coffee and hot chocolate over the holidays while the in laws are here.

3. The animatronic reindeer puppet that attacks Arnold is delightfully hideous and freaky - that thing could give Gmork a run for his money.
December 25, 2025 at 4:40 PM
2. Richard Moll as Turbo Man’s nemesis Dementor with a floating brain helmet that would have awesomely inappropriate nightmare fuel on live children’s television.

1. In the parade at the end, amongst the various janky IP characters, I saw The Tick and that made me mildly happy.

#Watched Jingle All the Way (1996) - CHRISTMAS MOVIE #6 - Arnold and Sinbad rampage though Minnesota while Phil Hartman is the king of pussy-slammin’ suburban dads, all the yoga moms want his Christmas package.

Terrible, but in the spirit of the season, 3 things I actually liked about this movie:

#Watched Long Distance Information (2011) - CHRISTMAS MOVIE #5

Oof, subtlely brutal with gnarly twist.

You two:

Sofia Milos is hot at least. But Charlton Heston and Brian Thompson are mostly wasted and this just feels like a waste of time with mediocre stunts (that one fight scene where JCVD and his opponent just keep throwing spin kicks over each others’ heads for what feels like an eternity … oy vey).
December 24, 2025 at 4:09 PM
#JCVDecember The Order (2001) - savage knockoff of Last Crusade, barely even file off the serial numbers. Watched this by accident - only realized halfway through that I meant to watch The Quest. Terrible, but worth it for JCVD fighting in the Old City of Jerusalem while in full Hasidic garb. /
December 24, 2025 at 4:08 PM
#Watched Wake Up Dead Man (2025) - nowhere near the high of the original but an improvement over the painfully cartoonish first sequel. O’Connor does a great job selling his character’s inner soulfulness - shame most of the red herring supporting cast lacked even rudimentary flesh on their bones.
