Hospitals will never be able to solve the problems facing healthcare.

They are places of specialised care & treatment, and a patient's stay there should be as short as possible.

All else must be managed outside of them.

The reimagining of the landscape of Primary & Social care is long overdue

The average age of death for homeless people in the UK is 47 for men and 43 for women, compared to 79.5 for men and 83.1 for women in the general population.

Makes you proud to be British, eh?

If like me you don't find this acceptable, consider donating to Shelter UK.

"Lower turnover rates for nurses and senior doctors at hospital level were associated with better health outcomes for patients with emergency hospital admissions."
The question for me is why we have to keep spelling this out.

Let’s start again. Tell me your story. What Matters To You?

Let's be clear,

Wellbeing in healthcare is not fluffy stuff.

It's about workload, staffing, systems & culture.

It's about valuing our own needs,
modelling humanity & vulnerability,
Creating spaces where people feel able to be authentic & ask for help.

Wellbeing must be a priority.

Unlike many guidelines, the new cSDH statements a) looked hard for evidence b) gathered a diverse group of experts - not just from neurosurgical units c) involved patients right from the start d) consulted widely outside of the core groups using @marydixonwoods.bsky.social THIScovery 3/
