I know that feels logical, but if you can be warm, be warm. It will take less of a toll on you than staying cold for an extended time. The cats will be fine and can snuggle with you when you get back. Also if you're in a cold house wear a hat, it helps.

That would be awesome. A way to test is to put a small flame to an edge of the fabric. If it is silk it will go out. If it is polyester blend it will melt.
