Gonna pitch this to bars in Glasgow.
I think a lot about the "bigot redneck" charicature thats so common in film - even in "good" film. A simple legibility of straightforward hate and violence.
The persona of some imaginary rural evil: ignorant, uneducated, hateful, alcoholic, unclean.

There's a media push to treat transphobic violence as something that is perpetrated by evil individuals (rednecks, young men in bars, etc) who murder out of ignorant hatred. The truth is, trans people are murdered quietly and systematically by the institutions that are supposed to protect them.

Man the UC hold music kinda slaps. Sounds like the opening track to a zombie film, or maybe a tv drama series, but when things are still nice? Its set in the south, and there's a truck driving through a landscape shot. The truck is red, and there is dust. That's what it sounds like.
