The 3-day-old baby gorilla went outside today for the first time. Gladys may be a first-time mom, but she’s already a natural. Visitors can stop by Gorilla World on their next visit in hopes to get a glimpse of the new baby, but they will not be on a set schedule of when they will be out.

Twelve-year-old gorilla Gladys is a mom! A healthy baby boy was born on Saturday, September 20, at 8:32 a.m. Mom and baby are doing well. This is Gladys’ first baby and the 51st gorilla born at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden.

Happy 1st Birthday to Daisy the bonobo! Like chimpanzees, bonobos share 98.7% of our DNA. But unlike gorillas or chimpanzees, bonobos are a matriarchal society. They are female lead, and female bonds take priority over male bonds.

The cheetah cubs are growing up fast and doing great on their training! They are working on leash walking so that they can one day walk around the zoo for enrichment and visit different areas to help us with our educational programs talking about cheetah conservation!

When the gaboon viper was having medical concerns, it was essential for her care team to get a closer look at her to determine what was going on. This required them to “tube” her. “Tubing” is an important tool reptile keepers use to get a closer look at snakes that cannot be otherwise handled safely
