I’m surprised at #isak continued determination to leave Newcastle, he must be under so much pressure. Something’s really gone wrong there. I guess we may find out once this is all resolved #redsky #LFC

Lots for the Reds to do to be happy with the squad, still more needed upfront and in defence. But surviving that ridiculous assault from Newcastle bodes well for the champions. #LFC
August 25, 2025 at 9:13 PM
Expect a tough game tonight. If the reds can keep it calm and simple they’ll be ok. Glad this transfer window’s coming to a close. The vitriol from the usually friendly Geordies is doing no one any good, not least themselves. Lets then focus on retaining the title. Isak or not #NUFC v #LFC

I wonder if LFC efforts on Guehi and Leoni is a dangerous play. Of course it’s speculation, but to spend a % of your budget (re PSR) before a prospective outlay of over 120m leaves little room for manoeuvre in negotiations. Unless they already know the price or know the sellers hand.

Anger from NUFC re Liverpool 🤷. #LFC fancy Isak, understand he’s interested, they bid, rejected, end. Isak 26, ambitious, next contract the big one. If he’s done anything wrong it’s committing to current contract. Should have had more confidence in himself.

This pre season (including the Stoke game), Darwin Nunez’s scored 5 goals. He’s #LFC top scorer having only played a bit part. Darwin In the right team, with his premier league experience is less of a risk than Sesko. #NUFC
August 5, 2025 at 2:28 PM
No idea whats going on with ##Sesko. My guess, he prefers #MUFC, but can’t pull together deal acceptable to RBL (e.g inc player). CN #NUFC convince him? If I was them, i’d walk away.
August 3, 2025 at 3:44 PM
Ignoring all the #ITK. Facts #NUFC bid for #EKITIKE. #LFC contact #NUFC re #ISAK, told do one. #LFC buy Ekitike. #ISAK down tools. #NUFC on back foot. #Howe responds to #ISAK Qs, no offer received, (inviting offers)? So #LFC offer, told do one. #LFC do one. #ISAK and #NUFC in limbo.

If PSR is maintained as is, hard to see why it won’t be, chances of PIF bailing on #NUFC is high. PSR was brought in largely to prevent what happened to clubs like Leeds and nearly Liverpool (H&G), crooks who bought in and leveraged the assets. Irony is PIF could buy and sell the league. #ISAK #LFC

Difficult to process the news of Diogo and his brother. Loved him as a player and had the privilege of being able to watch you every week at Anfield. You always had the edge in your play, you’ll be greatly missed. What a tremendous legacy you leave. RIP Diogo and Andre. #LFC #Diogo 💔

Liverpool haven’t bought success, they’ve earned it by being prudent and playing by the rules. With the success they’ve earned, they can now spend in an effort to sustain it. That’s how it should be. #LFC

For what it’s worth, I see #frimpong more as a longer term successor to Salah. I think next season he’ll provide cover for Bradley. When Salah leaves Liverpool will play a different way. #LFC

Sir Richard Shirriff on C4News is talking sense on Ukraine & how unless we stand with Ukraine, we are signing the death note of Europe.

This is what we urgently need to understand.

America has walked away, Europe needs to stand together to defeat Russia.

If there was any argument about the value of something like the ECHR, the Trump admin’s contempt of its own courts is reminder of the value of a higher body.

And no, I don’t think there’s anything special about the British that means we’re immune from fascism.

How Brexit, a Startling Act of Economic Self-Harm, Foreshadowed Trump’s Tariffs
Britain’s decision to leave the European Union in 2016 was sold to voters as a magic bullet that would revitalize the country’s economy. Its impact is still reverberating.

If Europe doesn’t get its act together and soon, this pincer move by the so called east and west super powers will have their boats mooring up in our ports. And they won’t be delivering goods to trade.
China provides Russia with weapons, Zelensky says.

"Today we have general information from the Security Service (of Ukraine), from intelligence about gunpowder, artillery," President Volodymyr Zelensky said.

This is an important thread. It’s a bleak assessment of what’s likely to happen. Many will disagree, I think it’s inevitable unless something stops it. By it, I mean Trump/MAGA army.
Art of the Real, part 974

(Really, part 1, page 1).

The US is not too big to fail.

Everything we rely on is structured around systemic & dominant US power, in defence, economy & international politics.

The most likely outcome of its erosion or collapse will be a chaotic, global bloodbath. /1.

#Brexit made the UK vulnerable to predators and Europe weaker in being able to defend itself. Pretty sure Starmer govt knows this and the dance he’s doing with #trump is simply playing for time. Time for Europe (inc the UK) to get organised.

❗ Reminder: Our polling shows TWICE AS MANY voters want the government to prioritise trade with the EU over the US.

In the face of US chaos and instability, a closer relationship with the EU just makes sense.

Will EU enlargement create new models for the EU-UK relationship?
Enlargement is pushing the EU to think creatively about how to work more closely with candidate countries before accession. The consequences for EU-UK relations could be significant.
