Text from WaPo article: “A person familiar with the order, speaking on the condition of anonymity to describe confidential decisions, confirmed the accuracy of the document and said it applied to all grants. The agencies are also required to submit detailed lists of projects suspended under the new order by Feb. 10. Federal agencies must assign "responsibility and oversight" to tracking the federal spending to a senior political appointee, not a career official, the memo states. The person said Medicaid would not be affected.”

Text: The FLSA was a landmark law at the time, establishing a federal minimum wage, overtime pay standards and child labor protections. Yet it also excluded several groups of workers, due to the political compromises needed to get support from those who wanted to maintain and benefit from the exploitation of workers. Text: Who was excluded? Agricultural workers, domestic workers, Blacks, immigrant workers and those with disabilities. Over time, the FLSA was amended to include those excluded - except those with disabilities. In 2025, workers with disabilities are the only group still legally subject to subminimum wages under federal law.
