It's only Monday.

I totally agree, you play to win the game. Also, not self-respecting athlete wants to come out, regardless of the score.

But you have to be able to know when it's time to pack it in. We empty the benches in basketball when it's over, too.

It's a balancing act for sure. If I'm a HC (which I'm not), I'm taking all of those aforementioned points, plus the fact that RG3's legs weren't all that long ago into consideration. You don't want to be the guy that destroys yet another Washington QB.

Nah...just not an option play in the 4th quarter of a blowout.

Dan Quinn knows better.
November 3, 2025 at 8:38 PM
If they keep losing like they did last night, we're having a different conversation. We'd be asking why Jayden Daniels fell off a cliff so quickly.
November 3, 2025 at 8:29 PM
Jayden Daniels was the OROY last year. Does he still need development? Yes. Does that need to happen during a blowout in November? No.

And you OL question:

They pull starters, if not rotate them in. However, QB is the most important position. Skilled positions are important but not the same.
November 3, 2025 at 8:20 PM
Depends on the game--

-Washington didn't have healthy WR1 or WR3.

-Seattle was moving the ball with ease

- Run game was ineffective/game script took away the run

- Jayden's first game back from injury

-Team runs RPO

-Down by multiple touchdowns

-Non-division game

Or you can just put in Marcus Mariota and not risk destroying another franchise QB.
November 3, 2025 at 8:03 PM
When your franchise QB is in his first game back from an injury and you're down by multiple touchdowns.

Head coaches make a ton of GUARANTEED money to know when it's time to pull the plug.
November 3, 2025 at 8:02 PM
Washington has done this to a young QB before. His first game back from injury, you sit him in a blowout.

It's common sense.

Running a read-option play, too.
