Did this #sketch to warm up. Fun fact: I played trumpet for over 10 years and I really enjoyed playing jazz. I also learned how to play every other brass instrument but still have a lot of love for the horn.

The 1st image is the end result of this mornings stream. I wanted to make sure the areas that are dark were more pronounced. Looking at it now, I see an opportunity to push it farther 😁. Honestly, I post for feedback and to share my work with others but it helps me as well.

Slowly plugging away at this. I don’t attack it with the same gusto as I would #digitalart because I can’t backtrack once I put something down. It’s making it a fun experiment of I really thinking through how I want to execute the look I have in my mind.

I feel like there is just more soul in analog drawing ✍🏾. Take Mikey here for example. While I enjoy the line art of the digital, I still crave the inconsistency of analog coloring.

Sketching Suspense from Demons of Magnolia and trying to decide how I want things to look. I personally like a lot of art where the sketch can be seen interplaying with the final design. So the goal is finding that intersection with my #digitalart.

Decided to redraw a still from Seinabo Sey’s music vide ‘I Owe You Nothing’. I was pretty happy with the #sketch and decide to just throw some color on it to practice a different approach.

The idea for this #illustration was something I sketched 6-7 years ago in college. Through the course of life, I never did more than the initial thumbnails. I get an odd thrill finally seeing this one finished.

•acknowledge what I’ve achieved so far
So much of the day is go,go, go that it helps to be able to look at what I’ve already done and reset my mind for another productive day.

I forgot how much fun it is to do #traditionalart. Going back to my roots of #pencil and #pen #drawing has been a nice change of pace. I’m still highly unfamiliar with #markers but that’s the beauty of being able to practice.

I finally sat down and created a title card for my future videos. Despite the amount of time to create, there is always something satisfying about creating #animation by hand. Don't get me wrong, I love what can be done with #3D but I like the more traditional aesthetic.

The beauty of experimenting is that you don’t always know the end result. My thought was that adding a gloss clear coat would help make this piece pop and protect the artwork from dust and future damage. I had some concern that it might run because I used water based markers.
