This cranefly looks like it’s wearing a backpack but it’s actually being taken down by a tiny jumping spider :0

There are usually only a few white-breasted nuthatch nests out of the 200+ boxes the museum has, but LOOK WHAT I FOUND THIS MORNING

Did a quick spot of herping after class today w/ some buddies and found a fencey boy, a small yet rotund chorus frog, and a handful of slender salamanders

Stew season called, and i answered
Didn't know what to make my pf banner so for now it is a gar, my favorite fish atm for the following reasons:
1. Lil snoot and fins
2. Most perfect fish shape
3. Looks like it would sound like a squeaky toy if you squeezed it in your hand
4. Looks like this from a front view:
