As noted, my only tattoo is explicitly anti-Nazi. Further, I led a platoon of 25 infantry and cavalry paratroopers (some middle class, some working class in origin) and none of them had Nazi tattoos.

One more thing: Many lefties—Sanders among them—act like this is still Vietnam and there really were working-class kids being disproportionately fed into a war machine via a coercive state apparatus.
Platner, like me, was a middle-class kid who chose to serve. We had agency.

When people say "rural America" what they actually mostly mean is exurban WHITE America. As this county map of Washington State shows, (most) rural Native reservations and communities are staunchly Blue.
